Summer 2025

LETTERS FROM THE LAKESIDE
As summer winds down in Heritage Lakes, our community is showing off its very best. The long, hot days are giving way to cooler mornings, and with the change in season comes a fresh, welcoming look across the neighborhood. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous resident, all of our fences and signs have been freshly cleaned, giving our streets a crisp, polished appearance. It’s amazing how something so simple can brighten the entire community and make Heritage Lakes feel even more inviting.

Alongside these spruced-up details, nature itself is putting on a show. Monarch butterflies have begun arriving, drifting gracefully through our yards and gardens as they make their way south for migration. Their bright orange wings are a beautiful reminder that even as summer comes to an end, there is still so much color and life all around us. If you're looking to attract them to your garden, consider planting native milkweed. Come next year you'll likely find eggs that lead to hungry caterpillars that feed on the milkweed until they cocoon themselves. A few weeks later you'll be able to watch the Monarchs emerge and set off on their southerly migration.

The combination of sparkling fences, refreshed signs, and fluttering monarchs truly makes this transition from summer to fall something special in Heritage Lakes. It’s a perfect moment to pause, take a walk, and enjoy the beauty of both our community and the season.
